Mikai is a modular bookshelf system designed by Steelbox to bring order and flexibility to both home and office environments. Its defining feature is the concealed shelf connection system, which keeps the structure visually clean and avoids the exposed technical look of traditional shelving.
The system leans against the wall, leaving a subtle gap between the structure and the back surface. Shelves are fixed discreetly along the uprights, creating a light and refined appearance. This makes Mikai suitable for interiors where storage needs to remain practical without becoming visually heavy.
Beyond standard shelving, Mikai can also be adapted into a compact home office setup by adding a desktop surface. It can also be combined with Mbox storage elements to increase closed or mixed storage capacity. This flexibility makes it suitable for living spaces, private offices, work corners, and study areas.
Its modular design allows different widths and shelf arrangements, making it easy to adapt to changing needs while maintaining a consistent, understated look.
